A modern fairytale for readers of all ages. Prince Gilbert has to choose between two beautiful sisters for his wife in order to prevent a war between his kingdom and theirs. He soon discovers that his future father-in-law forces his subjects to wear masks to hide their perceived ugliness and that the two beautiful princesses are not as attractive on the inside. Meanwhile, a chance meeting in the king's garden with a mysterious girl in a plain brown skirt and an old straw hat steals his heart, putting her life in danger and threatening the future of the two kingdoms.
