Nearing her eighteenth birthday, Katherine is living in the area of Edmonton, Alberta. Just short of eighteen years old, Katherine begins to feel frightfully ill. In fear of something terrible occurring, Katherine's mother Melissa, and her childhood bestfriend Matt call Cleo, a medic, to Katherine's aid. Much to Katherine's surprise, however, she finds her illness is only the beginning. Katherine is thrown into the world of magic with very little consent, and suddenly she finds herself surrounded by the unknown and peculiar. Creatures she never believed to exist are standing right before her eyes, and a magical castle is now being offered for her to rule from. Forced to make difficult decisions while attempting to master her newfound magical abilities, Katherine undergoes exciting and terrifying adventures that leads to heartbreak and courage.
