This is a collection of the late E J L Cole's articles on Radnorshire History published between the mid-1930s and the 1980s. The first section consists of his abstracts of 382 sixteenth century wills proved in the ecclesiastical courts of Canterbury, Hereford and Brecon. This is accompanied by indexes of testators, their places of residence, their executors and overseers. The second section consists of thirty-eight articles and series of articles on Radnorshire History between 1200 and 1600, that is from when it consisted of several Welsh lordships and its early decades as a county. They include transcriptions, translations and commentaries of historical documents, several prosopographical series on the early sheriffs and on parish clergy, together with other studies of families, communities and place-names.
