Echo of a Family Secret Michael E. Gibson
Echo of a Family Secret
Michael E. Gibson
In 1886, Peter Higgins was murdered in Antrim County, Michigan. No information about Peter and what happened to him was ever mentioned by family members.
While doing genealogical research over 120 years later his great-great-grandson, Michael Gibson, remarked in frustration at finding nothing about Peter and his immediate family that Peter had "fallen off the face of the Earth."
That's when he changed directions and decided instead to research a sketchy story his father had told him nearly 30 years earlier about a murder that could possibly have involved some distant relations. As the author put it, "...the intriguing nature of the murder story began to interest me. I thought it would be exciting to find out if there was any substance to the tale."
"Echo of a Family Secret" is a chronicle of the author's quest to uncover a mystery and to investigate the alarming discovery that the victim was the great-great-grandfather he had searched so long for.
