Long ago the children of Adam and Eve walked the Earth as though they were gods, warring among themselves for power and influence. To end their warmongering, a rogue pharaoh of Ancient Egypt sealed away their powers into a single, mystical jewel. Forgotten by history, the jewel passed quietly through the ages, eventually coming into the hands of a wealthy Manhattan nightclub owner, known only as The Mistress. In order to protect the secrets of the jewel, she hires two unlikely partners; a vampire and a young huntress. But as her reluctant new employees soon discover, there is more to The Mistress' plans than meets the eye.
