The Hunt Club Bob Feinstein
The Hunt Club
Bob Feinstein
Growing up in the mid-50s and early 60s was a time for exploration in the undisturbed wooded suburbs of northeastern Ohio. Some boys are rebellious, some are troublemakers. Augy and Finch were hell-raisers. But foolish pranks led to serious criminal behavior. Stealing, fighting and destroying property became a way of life for the two ?blood? brothers. Finch was Augy?s best friend and as young boys, they were inseparable. Finch was the instigator, the planner, the one who never got caught. Augy was fascinated with explosives, violence, and sex. As teens, pressure from his family to attend college slowed Finch?s downward spiral, while Augy?s penchant for getting into trouble left him with the choice of going into the military or going to prison. On a cold winter morning in January, 1964, the boys took a last hunting trip to reminisce and say goodbye. They were both leaving the next morning?Augy, to the Marine Corps and Finch to Ohio State. On that day, panic from an unexpected encounter led to an event that would test their friendship and change lives forever. Twenty five years later in La Jolla, California, two lives that went in opposite directions have come full circle and their past will come back with a vengeance.
