Gudrun Sagen is living in Lillesand, Norway. While at a crossroads in her life she indirectly receives an offer from America. Trusting God's leading, she decides to leave Norway for life as a wife instead of a servant.
Both Arvik and Gudrun have things they are hoping for, but will it turn out as they hope?
As in each book of the series, covering multiple generations - Elizabeth Lonseth has developed main characters who walk closely with God, trusting in His guidance, each in their own time in history.
