Book two of the dystopian action thriller series Shadows of the Apocalypse, Paige Gibson is caught off guard while traveling home from the beach with her boyfriend Ethan, and his parents. Paige doesn't want to believe her dad's plane has crashed and is holding onto hope she will see him again. Jesse is not sure if Paige ever left Florida and is concerned about her new romance with Ethan. He wonders if Ethan will be able to keep her safe, or will Jesse even be able to get to her if she's not at home. They both battle with daring and dangerous adversities on their journey to get back home to one another.
