Emperor Milias sought to rule the world. At first, the kingdoms and their lords laughed at his ambitions. But his creations, machines fueled by arcane energy, turned his small domain into a power that couldn't be stopped. His warriors were superior, his tactics sublime, and his knowledge rumored to be absolute. Failure only came to him when the calamity was released. None knew, nor know, who released it or created it. Most blamed Milias. They said that ending the world was his intention all along. They said the endless wars were but a game to the immortal seer. Millennia after the end began, the remnants of humanity survive within the last of the Goliath Class machines. The world beyond is coated in Ash and the shapeshifting monstrosities that form from it. But as the Behemoth falls, all hope leads to finding a rumored stronghold that may yet stand. A stronghold built by the same Emperor that brought about the end of all, if the rumors and whispers are true. A place where some few may survive for a little while longer. Unless the all-knowing Milias made plans for them as well.
