Hector moves into a new house and a new school district. He has always been a target for bullies and hopes to get a new start. Ruby is excited to have someone her age move in next door. When they meet, she notices some things that are not real attractive about him, but they become good friends. Her best friend rejects him and makes fun of him. When school starts Hector gets bullied. Ruby and Hector have to make some life choices, they have to decide what kind of people they want to be, and they learn about having a conscience.
