There's nothing ridiculous about asking an 11-year old, a child at the cusp of discovering their own identity, to hide every emotion they feel, all while very obviously keeping secrets from them. Not if the survival of their race depends on it.

It all started when one brother, Brax, has an angry outburst after being humiliated when his friend Chelsea, a girl, dares to jump a ramp he didn't and nails it. His veins ignite, sending an explosion of electromagnetic energy from his body. When the brothers rush home to tell their father and uncle what happened, they learn they are supernaturals of the Psyner race. The brothers quickly go from school in Michigan, where the most exciting thing is taco lunch Tuesday, to going to a new school where yetis are their groundskeepers, fairies their security system, Santa's brother their mailman and a not so secret mermaid their new friend.

Soon after arriving at their new school a sinister schoolmate named Jett teaches the brothers what no one else will, that they are the subject of a prophecy that foretells the coming of the great enemy, the shadow hunter. Brax must navigate the disdain of his classmates and the contempt of his teachers, without showing any emotion. One more outburst could prove to be deadly. With the help of his careless brothers and judgemental best friend, he must figure out how to stop the prophesied apocalypse before the great enemy discovers his secret.
