Alberto is a toy rabbit who knows what it's like when things don't make sense. Often, his life doesn't go the way he wants. More than anything else, he wants to become real, but he doesn't know how. After encountering bragging toys, a wise horse, and real rabbits who mock him, he is thrown away, and it looks as if he may never become real. But toy magic is a strange thing...




This story of love, loss, and transformation is based on "The Velveteen Rabbit" by Margery Williams Bianco.




Designed especially for children who are in between reading picture books and chapter books, this story deals with some darker subject matter, such as sickness and grief. In its lighter and more elevated moments, it points towards resiliency and the unexpected power of loving friendships.
