I recently read the typewritten script of a soon to be published book. The author is Ralph Gordon, a gentleman from Union who knows how to put sentences on paper and hold the readers attention. Gordon's approach to the subject (the civil rights era on the 1960s in Mississippi) is different from previously published books on the subject. He is not some omniscient writer looking at this subject from the outside. He writes from firsthand observation and from interviews with members of his family and also his neighbors who had experiences similar to his own. -Ovid Vickers former English Professor East Central Community College
