Poetry to me is an expression of a Poets soul. As he or she writes they bud and unfold. An Urban Poets Conscious Perspective gives me the opportunity to bud and unfold my soul to humanity. These 149 poems are a direct result of different emotions I experienced while being incarcerated. In all actuality as my soul cried my pen filled with spiritual ink and to this piece of wood my pen I applied. In this poetic script I only seek to confide and convey a piece of my soul unto you. I learned while putting this collection of poetry together that it was very enlightening for me to express my self through rhythm. I feel that I am only reliving what was once apart of my ancient African History. I seek to infiltrate your mind and fill your heart with my urban perspective. For my lyric is my spirit.
