There's a Dog in the House: a Practical Guide to Creating Today's Dog Friendly Home Amy Fernandez 1st edition

There's a Dog in the House: A Practical Guide for Creating Today's Dog-Friendly Home This unique resource addresses the dynamic and too often neglected relationship between dogs and home design. Today dogs of every shape and size live in our homes, an arrangement that was considered extraordinary just 50 years ago. Yet, prior to this book, the field of home design had not adequately responded to this significant new design challenge. From a cultural standpoint, treating your dog like a member of the family has become emblematic of enlightened, compassionate ownership. They sit on our couches, sleep on our beds, use our bathtubs, and even occasionally dine at our tables. They also shed, track in mud, and show no interest in the aesthetic or hygienic aspects of our homes. This has unfortunately become a major cause of disruption in the loving dog/human bond. There's a Dog in the House provides solid practical advice for what many owners attempt to improvise-home design solutions that make it far easier to live harmoniously with a well-behaved, contented dog. It also includes a chapter by chapter resource guide to help dog owner's find the right products and information for creating a truly dog-friendly home. An invaluable and comprehensive volume created by two dog lovers, one an experienced design professional, the other a recognized dog expert, There's a Dog in the House is destined to become a cherished addition to the libraries of home owners and designers.
