Inspired by Nancy Drew and the beautiful rolling hills of Central Virginia, Talking Waters is a story about history, mystery, friendship and more? Shy, sensitive Erin and her best friend Audrey, a sophisticated soon-to-be 15 year-old, are thrilled when Audrey?s parents rent a rambling old lake house for the summer. Dakota, Erin?s 16 year-old brother, completes the trio of excited teens at Lake Bonita. And of course, none of them would go anywhere without their dogs? The teenagers quickly settle into a laid-back summer routine of swimming, kayaking, putt-putt, and dog walks in the nature preserve. Dakota?s passion for history lands him a part-time job mowing the presidential lawns at Monticello while his sister develops a passion of her own for an albino deer and a scruffy looking local boy, both of whom she meets unexpectedly in the woods. It isn?t long before strange occurrences around the lake catch the attention of the teens and they find themselves unraveling a mystery that spans hundreds of years.
