Sources are primarily eclectic in nature, with a few writers surfacing time and time again, such as: George Bernard Shaw, William Shakespeare, Baltasar Gracián, Thomas Fuller, Friedrich Nietzsche, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Oscar Wilde, Benjamin Franklin, Mark Twain and others. These are not the typical positive quotes which pine for some idealistic motivation. Instead, many of the selections are gritty, deep and dark. In many ways, these are the unspoken thoughts that many of us deal with privately, in the deep recesses of the mind. The hope is that the thoughts contained in this book can serve to provide hope for even the cynic in all of us.
