The Drug Cartels from Mexico have sent their hired gun, Timbero, to San Antonio, Texas to deliver a message of intimidation. They aren?t pleased about new legislation that might allow United States agents to pursue drug suspects into Mexico. Timbero drives a used Lincoln into San Antonio to drop off ?6 heads in a bag? at the yearly Easter Donation of North Star Mall. In the novel, anti-hero Adam Carter, reveals where he thinks all American cities are headed from the viewpoint of his psychosis filled shadow world. He further interprets the crime war through his newfound bigotry after collapsing from the middle class into struggle. No one though knows that Timbero, the Cartel messenger, has a secret practice of serial killing for personal pleasure. The killer is determined to troll for victims beyond his usual stomping grounds of infamous Juarez, Mexico. He wants to hunt an American this time. This sets him on a collision course with Dr. Julia Brown, a distinguished history professor, who has been researching the cases of the missing Juarez women on her blog and Barry Juarez clever, if narcissistic, reporter for the local paper. The Cartels? plans continue running into brick walls when Jesse Herrera, a budding city councilman, rebels against their bribery system. A system where court appointed attorney?s offer leniency for felons from business owning families in return for hefty cash sums and political donations to ?Cartel friendly? candidates. The battle takes on ?civil war? dimensions as the two main Cartel proxies in San Antonio, Judge Bustamante Pena and attorney Wayne Burke, battle for control and spill blood out into the city.
