Ilya's having a tough go of it. New York City in the 1880s just has way too many social rules for a woman of her sort: smart, savagely honest, and unwilling to cooperate with a culture bent on smothering her. She's comically unsuited to the Victorian Era and its stifling propriety. Broke, henpecked by men, and Manhattan society finding her a little rude, she adopts 'No Limitations' as her motto, and heads for the American West to see what kind of life is available for her out where people aren't so fussy.
