The Girl with the Cinnamon Twist

1969--The country is embroiled in an unpopular war in Vietnam. Rosemary's Baby, Bullitt and Funny Girl are in the theaters. The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Dionne Warwick are playing on the radio. And newly commissioned Roger Munson is in Colorado Springs to begin his tour as an Air Force Officer. Upon arrival Roger meets "The Girl With the Cinnamon Twist" and begins an unlikely relationship with this girl, named Maggie Myers. Roger is a straight-laced engineer. Maggie is a free spirited, artistically oriented, college student, living in a world peopled with anti-war activists. As their relationship ebbs and flows Roger falls under suspicion of the Air Force security forces because of his connection with Maggie and her association with the activists. Stressed, the relationship falls apart only to be rekindled by the intervention of a friend. In this coming-of-age story Roger and Maggie take the reader back to a conflicted time in America and follows the two young people as they begin to chart a course for the rest of their lives.
