Brick and Mace are reluctant heroes. They stumble blindly from day to day thinking only of their own personal survival and comfort. They have no idea they possess the hero's potential. This is a story about waking up from habitual thinking and finding purpose on the spiritual path toward awareness and enlightenment. Brick and Mace have been lawyers for only two weeks and are already in danger of being arrested and disbarred. They want to get rich, but they lack the work ethic and character. They're scoundrels and they're spiritually asleep. Enter Crazy Ike, an older lawyer. People either hate him or love him. He takes Brick and Mace under his wing while throwing them into situations that test their moral and spiritual fiber. He is the catalyst that begins their spiritual journey and quest for awareness, as well as being their mentor in the law business. The story is set in Austin, Texas, with intermittent road trips to Waco and Dallas. The young lawyers gain valuable courtroom experience with Crazy Ike - experience they must recall when Ike is falsely accused of murder and held without bond on the eve of their biggest and most difficult jury trial. They find themselves having to go it alone, relying only on what they have learned, what they have become, and a Presence they are just beginning to sense. They began as knockoff perfume salesmen - Rhinos. Now they are lawyers - Sharks. But they become something more - Unicorns.
