Of necessity, we look at the origin of the tribes and discover that the Saxons were originally part of the army of Alexander-the-Great. after his death in Babylon, the Saxons were dispersed and finally settled o the northern coasts of Germania. Through the process of amalgamation, the Saxons became a large and powerful tribe. soon after the Romans left Britannia, the king of the Britons called Vortigern asked for help from the Germanic tribes to stop the raiding incursions from the Scots. Three German tribes answered his call. There were the Engels, the Kimbern and the Saxons. the story continues to the early English kings, ending with Edward-the-Elder.
