Ursula Chadwick had a bad day started. Victor 'Bear' Warsawski was there, too. It got worse when two goons tried to rob the saloon where she worked one Halloween. Shots were fired. Bear tried to save her life when the patrons fired back and she still stood in the crossfire. Their lives merged as the smoke cleared, but that was just a small bump in the road. A big bump loomed, the fight to preserve the woods and neighboring farms from the developer partnered with a drug lord. They used powers as yet unrecognized and untested. They would learn those on the job. That wasn't her only problem. she had to cope with the subconscious biological clock and a strengthening palpable need to bear children as replacements for her and her spouse. Individually, each problem was daunting by itself. Would, could they meet those challenges? At least she has an experienced witch to guide her at the beginning.
