Kathy had an abortion in 1976 and for the next twenty-five years could truthfully say that her abortion didn't seem to affect her. She had a successful career in the corporate world and a new family when she found herself watching an abortion story called the "Empty Chair." To her surprise, she cried for two days. Shortly after, Kathy woke up with a title, "A River of Tears," and the certainty that she should write a book containing first-person accounts of women who had experienced abortions. What followed was a personal journey that exhumed long-buried pain, and allowed the process of fully grieving the loss of her precious child to begin. Over the next five years Kathy interviewed dozens of women and captured their stories of loss. Abortion-rights advocates put forth a one-sided view of abortion, and God wants the world to know the true cost to both the mothers and their babies. God used this process to fully heal Kathy and it is her desire that other women will be healed as well, and that the world will know in greater measure the true cost of abortion.
