Cosmos, God, and Soul
Edward Conklin Ph.d.
Nature has been discovered to be a connected flow of energy elements and relative forces that compose environmental and living forms that in turn all flow from a cosmological force. The discovery of this flow of energy and the repeated confirmation and utilization of it is a scientific testament of truth. This objective testament of science sanely replaces any and all subjective testaments of a human-like god. Through time humans will eventually develop the comprehension that a human-like god is only a human way to speak of a cosmological force that shapes all that exists. In time the dim light of evolving human comprehension will lift the veil of the dark shade of ignorance to reveal a cosmological origin. Then no longer will praises for a human-like god be heard to echo on the earth, and no longer will plaintiff prayers be heard for a soul to be saved. When the superstitious thoughts and behaviors of religion are replaced by reaching full cognitive maturity, then will be heard from some sizable portion of the population, a dirge, a tearful recognition and yet true lament that life is on its own on planet earth; that all references to a human-like god only compose an artistic word portrait that represents only higher human potential and protection. Further lament and weeping will also be heard when the soul is perceived to be the root cause of problems for evolving human intelligence, and that the soul does not need to be saved by a god as it a continuation of an indestructible cosmological force, and is by default saved by cause and effect.
