During auditions, Alex meets and shares an on-screen kiss with the stunningly handsome twenty-one year old actor James Prescott, who becomes her co-star. The pair fall deeply in love, and an intense relationship follows. Galaxy Drifters becomes a massive success, spawning a film franchise worth billions, and catapulting the couple to superstardom. Fame and success come at a high price, however, and the young couple find themselves at the center of obsessive media attention and public fascination, fraying their relationship and ultimately causing them to question their fairy-tale romance. They eventually end their relationship, but Alex never fully gets over the loss of James in her life.
