Separated from Attleborough in 1887, North Attleborough boasts a rich and colorful heritage. It was the home of Joe Martin, who served as Speaker of the House under Presidents Harry S. Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower. It is also the birthplace of the jewelry industry in the United States and the site of some of the earliest button manufacturers in this country.
