Just as the Lord wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets of stone, so he expects us to write them on the hearts of our children and grandchildren.
So what do we do? We stay close to our children, we love them, and we show them our love by teaching them to obey the Ten Commandments. We teach them to understand the promised rewards that come when they put God first in their lives. We teach them to know and remember that when they build their foundation upon Jesus Christ, the devil will have no power over them and cannot trap them (Helaman 5:12). We teach them that when they obey the Ten Commandments, they are building upon the sure foundation that brings happiness in this life and eternal happiness in the life to come.
