Reminiscing Donegal E F Ward

The book is an insight into the storytelling that was prevalent in the homes of Donegal where I was born, before the advent of television. The Seanchais (storytellers) were the method of entertainment, and the stories would be repeated word for word, to the delight and trepidation of the listener. I have endeavoured to record some of these myths and legends that are part of a receding way of life. In these rural areas of Donegal, pre-Christian beliefs were, and are, hidden beneath a veil of Christianity. Beneath this surface of conformity there lies our beliefs of the past, masked by rejection and denial.
