Verseology the Therapy of Creating Song & Verse
Graham Huff
The practice of Verseology is the process of coming to terms with deeply held feelings and emotions, and channelling these and other senses into song, verse and poetry. The practice of Verseology can be thinking about anything that causes an emotional response in you; it can be about love and happiness, or any of life's experiences that give you pleasure; but where Verseology is at its most powerful is when we are haunted by that skeleton in the cupboard: the demon who slowly emerges out of the dark and foggy background of the mind. In confronting these feelings in an honest, sincere and rational way we can 'come to terms' with these 'skeletons in the cupboard' or 'demons' as I like to call them; they lay deep in the depths of our subconscious mind, laying dormant until an event that troubles us causes our defences to weaken and then they come to the foreground of our minds, trying to bring chaos and doubt to our everyday lives.
