PodChix was born out of an idea that I got when I attended Podfest in March 2019. I met so many amazing women who had their own podcast. I started using the phrase PodChix and every time someone heard me say it they would say how cool the name was. When I got back home to Georgia PodChix stuck in my head and I thought about what I could do with the name, that's when I decided that I would write a book and include some of the women that I had met at Podfest. In this book 13 women including myself share their stories of how and why they started their podcast. For me I love podcasting because it gives me a chance to do what I love which is share stories. I've been podcasting since 2009. I started way back when before podcasting became what it is today. Even though the industry has grown so much podcasting is still in the early stage. There are close to about 700,000 podcast out there. Now this may seem like a lot until you look at the number of YouTube channels there are which is about 5 billion. So there is still time for anyone who wish to launch a podcast to do so. In PodChix you not only hear stories from myself and other women, I also share the steps you need to take to launch your own podcast. The first thing I would say that you need to do before you launch your podcast is to ask yourself why you want to launch a podcast. The answer you give yourself will determine what your next steps should be in launching your podcast.
