This is the second book in the Bug Summer series, and picks up where Bug Summer--Raining Ladybugs leaves off. This time, however, they are hunting spiders, making great photos of them, and learning all about what spiders do. Walt, Zack's best friend, is introduced in this story, and we learn that he is a bit arachiphobic, so the day's spider activities are a bit difficult for him. This is a wonderful read for children who are unsure of spiders as well as for those who find them fascinating. Illustrated with original art and beautiful macro-photography, this tale will help children and adults have a better understanding of spiders and their place in the world.
