Like most storytellers, he has added tales here and there that are only life experiences that are unique to him. 25 years ago his son Stephen asked that he write about his turkey hunting experiences. Sonny decided to take a class on creative writing and got side tracked, publishing a successful novel. The experience greatly enhanced his ability to capture the reader's attention. Originally "Blind Reading" was going to be all about turkey hunting, his favorite game, but he soon realized it needed to encompass the entire outdoors. His stories range in time from his childhood in early Miami to his retirement in the Georgia Mountains and in distance, from the Florida Keys to Northern Greenland.
