This is the story of a mother?s personal journey of raising three children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Learn from her many challenges and triumphs as she helps her children successfully reach their goals and go off the college. Through diagnosing her children she discovered that her husband also suffers from ADHD. Nanci Beckman shares some of her family?s most personal stories in dealing with her oldest child's compulsive lying and stealing as well as oppositional defiance. Although, all of her children have ADHD none of them have the same symptoms making their diagnosis even more challenging. Through proper medical care, medication, and behavioral treatment during her children's younger adolescent years she was able to help her children avoid many of the social and emotional stigmas often associated with ADHD. Through each of her children's own trials and triumphs Beckman helps the reader to understand the complex world of ADHD. Beckman's intent for this book was to give Hope and Inspiration to the many people and parents out there who are dealing with ADHD and need to be encouraged. ADHD doesn't have to be a deficit it just needs to be addressed and embraced! Through sharing her family?s story along with the knowledge and information she collected over a twelve-year period, Beckman?s intent is to give hope and faith to those who are battling to survive the continuous waves of ADHD. Her story has a very successful ending and her hope is that it will provide strength to her readers to continue to fight for their children and not let society or the school system destroy them.
