Yamaya's Magic Potion Steven Thair

A young girl falls asleep and dreams of an undersea Caribbean world, where she has become a seagirl named Luna. Her brother, a seaboy, is caught in a fisherman's net and whisked away. When Luna tries to find her brother, other sea creatures help her as best they can, and she is told to seek the help of a mysterious "hoomin" named Johnny Sea Ranger. With the help of Johnny Sea Ranger and a the goddess-in-training, Yamaya, Luna takes on an evil poacher and his henchmen, in her effort to free her brother. The action takes place in and around Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island and Deadman's Reef. This book is strikingly illustrated with 15 watercolour batik prints by local artist TIFF.
