But the truth is something Jacks is desperately searching for, and she does fear it, more than anything. The truth could bring an end to her madness or the beginning of a new and darker insanity. When Jacks is hospitalised following an attempted suicide, reality itself is brought into question. Dissatisfied with the answers to her condition or her reason for being there, she seeks the aid of a man whom she knows to be dead, setting out an investigation to determine the truth.
