After a tragic accident, brilliant scientist Devin Burroughs uses his own experimental treatments to save a young man he nearly kills. The treatments and Devin?s surgical skills save the young man from death, but they exact a huge price. During his convalescence, the young man feels he?s losing his humanity. He has no memory prior to the accident, not even a name. And he?s trapped in a downward spiral into darkness as his recovery continues. Occasional flashes of violent images suggest a troubled childhood while his continued recovery includes physical changes that are at first puzzling, but quickly become frightening. With help from Devin and a few new friends, the young man struggles to retain and to define his humanity as the experimental treatments continue to mutate him into what he feels he is: a monster.
