The book begins with a Roll of Honour for our fallen heroes in Wootton Bassett, Hook, Lydiard Tregoze, Tockenham, and Brinkworth. There are chapters on local regiments, recruitment, nursing, volunteer activity, employment, German prisoners of war, Belgian refugees, remembrance, war memorials, and more.




It is a companion volume to 'The Town', which describes every family and every business in the town, house by house.
