The Breaking of Bread instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ at the Last Supper is the shared heritage of all Christian believers. This book contains a reconstruction of the Breaking of Bread service as celebrated by the first Christian church at Jerusalem following the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. In this simple act the first believers remembered with great joy the triumph of the Cross, celebrating their deliverance from the penalty and power of sin, their restoration to relationship with God and their receipt of life eternal. As at the beginning, this first Thanksgiving may be celebrated in any Christian home, either by a group of believers, or by an individual as part of their daily walk with Jesus. "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him" (Jesus Christ).
