To know love is to know sorrow, for as day and night, they chase each other endlessly, for only in the deepest of darks are the greatest of loves. Three years ago I lost my beautiful wife to cancer. Since learning of her illness six years ago when our grief began, I have written our poetry as a candle in the darkness of sorrow. There is both darkness and light within these pages, as both must be travelled. This is how I honour my love for her, by lighting the candle of love within the darkness for those that must travel it. Open, read, cry and then follow the light out of your darkness into your new dawn, wherever that may be. Always in my heart my love x
