Jitterflies is a story for young children who naturally feel nervous on the first day of school. Many children worry about what will happen at school on Day One; will they make friends; will their teachers like them; will the work be too difficult? This worried feeling tingles in their tummies. These tingles are from little make-believe beings I call Jitterflies! But school can be fun once those Jitterflies flutter away. All it takes is a few great experiences with the teacher and other children. At the end of the day, with the Jitterflies gone, kids can go home from school feeling "safe and kind of sweet!"
