Beneath the Surface Tension

Ron Goldman, unemployed game programmer, has no reason to believe his hum-drum day will be any different until the US Space Command interrupts his breakfast and informs him that living-dead assassins in striped face paint are trying to kill him because of a rare gene he unknowingly possesses. After an immediate attempt on his life, Ron and his girlfriend Tracey Springs are whisked to a secret base under the Denver International Airport, where they learn of alternate universes controlled by good and evil forces on a grand scale, and how his mysterious gene can control whether they perish or continue to exist. Pursued into the strange universe by the band of assassins, Ron, Tracey, and a team of Space Command operatives must confront the greatest evil in all history, and desperately fight to survive against bands of ocean-dwelling tribal warriors, mind-numbed thralls, and a deep ocean prison, to return to Earth. But does it even exist? Has the surface tension of the bubble universe burst, or morphed into a different world than the one they left?
