The Mean Guy picture books are based on a small fictitious character who lives with his forever grandparents Grammy and Boppa. They all love to travel and experience new places. Mean Guy wants you to believe he is hard and tough and that he doesn't care about anything or anyone. He growls, "Buhhh," to almost everything but wherever he goes, fun and excitement follow.

In this story, Mean Guy goes to Hawaii. Follow him as he rides the luggage carousel, gets buried in the sand up to his chin and learns to surf at Waikiki Beach. His antics remind us of behaviors that are important in everyday life such as being polite, caring for the environment, being kind to people and respecting other cultures.

The author/illustrator takes Mean Guy along when she travels and takes photographs during the trip to create the detailed and fun full-color illustrations on each page. All Mean Guy books are geared toward young readers and are suitable to read aloud to all ages.
