Global Warming Bold Kids

Global warming is the earth's temperature rise over hundreds of years, oceans and air going up considerably over thousands of years. Average global temperatures today are on the rise over 1.5 C (2.7 F) above pre-industrial levels, which began around 1750. With the exception of a brief period right after the Earth's last ice age, today there are no signs of a significant return to pre-industrial temperatures. While most scientists agree that man is a major contributing factor to the increase in Earth's temperature, the overwhelming majority of the planet is comprised of water - which absorbs heat from the atmosphere.
