In a fictional combination of prose and poetry, the narrator reveals much about the main character in the story, Serena. Serena, who led harsh and dire life circumstances since her childhood, throws herself on the unknown by marrying Yusuf, and dramatically faces her failures in society with much patience, profound analysis and almost no communication till she discovers about her mortal disease. However, in a narration enriched with symbolism and keen feelings, what seems to be the end, turns out to be another door opened wide for a new life, and this is what inspired the author to entitle her book "a victory of life".
