Woodbury Tabernacle: Volume One marks the first serialization of author Dave Matthes. Originally published in 2019's "On the Verge of Burning Down the Church: Poetry and Stories", "WhiskeyTree" and "The Long, Bizarre Death of Victor Quinn" are the first chapters of their respective stories. In "WhiskeyTree", we meet Trill Beasely, as he crosses paths with Cranston Oberly and his sometimes lover Cybil Delacroix. Together, they put into motion a seemingly unbreakable friendship as they traverse the many footholds and cracks in the sidewalk life has to offer. In "The Long, Bizarre Death of Victor Quinn", we follow the spiritual evolution of famous writer Victor Quinn, after his death he finds himself in an afterlife populated by characters and personalities of scrapped ideas from books he never published.
