Long after the apocalypse that caused civilization's collapse, the surviving humans rebuilt society from the preserved ruins of those that came before. Science and understanding was lost with the humans from the old world. What hasn't been lost are the mechaniforms; machines in the shapes of animals which roam the world, performing enigmatic tasks toward unknown ends. When a meteorite crashes to the planet, the rage of the machines is awakened along with a mysterious girl.
