Passover was an Israelite tradition celebrating the freeing of the nation from Egyptian bondage. It was one of the anti-types that Yahweh would use to introduce a future and much broader event. It was an event of such importance that it would extend to everyone who would believe and follow God's plan. Yahweh's teachings, instructions, commandments, events, metaphors and anti-types would culminate in the sacrificing of His own son for the sins of mankind. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is commemorated and remembered each year in the Christian world at Easter. Although it is supposed to parallel the Passover feast of the Jews, over time, religious and cultural influences have distorted and degraded the picture that it represents. The modern day teachings of a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection do not correspond to the teachings of Scripture. Ron McRay shows the real timing of that most important event.
