Charles Gilson created this book at the dawn of the 20th century. It proposes suggestion be used in a medicinal context, both on oneself and others. Some of the proposed uses (tobacco and alcohol addiction, for example) are still in some use today. Others, such as the use of suggestion for the symptoms of lead poisoning or goiter, less so. It is of interest to note that the author of this work was primarily known (even esteemed) for fictional works. This particular entry is, of course, meant to be instructive.
