It's fall of 1864, as a half Cherokee woman named Jera flees her homeland in the East. She meets a Cheyenne warrior by the name of Warrior of the River. Both are haunted by their pasts and bonded by tragedy. The pair quickly develop a friendly relationship. Jera stays with River and his people as winter bares down on them. After the devastation of the Sand Creek massacre, River, who has been advoctiong peace with the settlers, becomes increasingly challenged by others, who are pushing for war. Will River continue to follow the peaceful chiefs of his tribe? Or will there be a breaking point, in which he fall into the warring ways of his youth that earned him his name? Will Jera be given a choice to stay with River and his people as the Civil War ends and the war for the West gets even bloodier between the Natives and the settlers?*This is a fictional story that contains some historical facts on Native American, but it is not a factual story!*
